Sarah Wilson
Consultant Trainer

Sarah is a highly experienced and APM qualified project manager, trainer, and consultant with more than 30 years’ experience supporting and inspiring organisations and individuals and has worked in many sectors, including education, food manufacturing, utilities, police forces, charities and finance, but has a particular specialism in supporting project management skills development in public sector organisations.

Sarah has a degree in Marketing and a master’s degree in Information Technology and has used this mix of skills, along with an ability to build relationships at all levels of business, to effectively support complex organisational change, often acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.

Sarah has a strong interest in supporting the development of the project management office. Her understanding that project management needs to be adaptable and appropriate to the project, the team and the organisation has helped several organisations to develop and embed in-house project management methodologies. She acts as an auditor for the PMO development of a Yorkshire based health and social care lottery funded programme.

As a project manager Sarah has supported many projects over the years including systems implementation work for North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Electricity, and technical innovation projects for Yorkshire Water. Using a highly pragmatic approach to project management and great communication skills Sarah delivered these projects with an efficient but light touch.

Sarah’s first love will always be in supporting the development of skills in others and she enjoys nothing more than listening to the challenges of new and developing project managers, and using her experience to guide them toward delivering great projects with a realistic use of tools & techniques appropriate to their project, team and organisation.
